Peruvian Paintings in Gilded Frames
This is a pair of early oil on panel portraits with elaborately carved, gilded and inlaid mirror frames.
Collection of Private Client
Treatment of the painting included surface cleaning, infilling and inpainting. Extensive treatment of the frames included repairing splits, cracks & gaps in the wood, cleaning, filling losses, inpainting and ingilding. Missing sections of mirror in the frame were replaced with hand-cut and gilded glass.

Treatment: Graffiti Abatement, cleaning, and integration of acrylic coatings

Treatment: The commode was extensively conserved for exhibit in London. After analytical examination, layers of restoration varnish and bronze overpaint were removed. Splits in the lacquer were filled and inpainted, and gold decoration integrated. Gilt bronze mounts were cleaned and the front proper left foot stabilized and a non-invasive mount fitted. The marble was cleaned and losses filled.
